| I listen to about everything from bluegrass to rap. I play guitar and bass. My favorite genre is the blues. I'm really interested in what other areas of the world listen to. To youngblood, I don't want to hear Justin Beiber. | |

| Rock, more rock and occasionally rock. The louder and more guitars the better! C'mon, I grew up in the 70's and 80's. It was all about the hair baby. | |

| Yep, I can't argue with that Metz. I just can't get enough of the long hair shred days of guitar. It is a lot better than some of this crap we got today. | |

| hey guys,i've been a dedicated shred head for as long as i can remember.I have played guitar for 20+ yrs,and currently own 22 guitars.I have always been into music ,current cd collection stands at 2500+.As for guitar playing goes my real passion is the blues, that is what i play most.I am currently listening to a sleeepy jhon estes, blind lemon jefferson, earl hooker etc,as well as my dailt dose of rock /metal such as five finger death punch,maiden,ac/dc,metalica,hinder etc.Ialso believe you should see as much live music as possible,in fact i'm off to see pennywise tonight. And lastly when u r having a bad day, nothing cheers you up like a good thrash with your amp on 10, ROCK ON GUYS! | |

C'mon, I grew up in the 70's and 80's. It was all about the hair baby. Most definitely. From Megadeth, Metallica, to Van Halen, Lynch Mob, Dokken. Journey etc. My music collection covers pretty much all of the 70's and 80's DK

| once i hit secondary school in the early 90's i was all over indie / grunge / rock /metal, complete with greasy long hair! Then after 1996 when i started going out on the pop every night, the dance music scene was my major vice, the late 90's and early 200's (for me at least) was my golden age of music and that was where most of my money went in my early 20's. In 2002 i was shipped to the USA for a 6 month assignment for work and got a taste for linkin park, blink 182, system of a down, sum41 etc.
most recent rock / metal music has a significant emo taint and thats not my bag baby, so i have pretty much given up on that side of the music spectrum for the time being. Maybe in 5 years time, there will be something to draw me back, until then, its time to wheel out some Rammstein and blow away the cobwebs.
I still listen to a broad selection of music it just depends on how the mood takes me but i hate jazz and emo music.

Sorry to hear that your amps don't have the "extra volume" like the boys from Spinal Tap had. You know, "one louder, it goes to 11". What a classic......... I just got done with a yardwork session last Sunday and listened to TESLA the whole time. Probably one of my all time favorites, but then I have so many! I have sh!t from College like "The Killer Dwarfs", "Dangerous Toys", "Bang Tango", "Badlands" (Jake E. Lee), "220 Volt", other somewhat obscure bands too (one CD wonders). And, no more CD's for me! It's all on computer drives and I buy everything off iTunes now. Don't worry, I have it backed up at least 3 ways. Can't lose what made you.

| Damn Metz, bands I haven't listened to in a few years. Brings back a lot of great memories for me. Tesla - Bust a Nut (great album) Badlands - Voodoo Highway (The Last time favourite track). I absolutely love the music from this era. I miss performing this stuff most of all to be honest. DK | |

DK What do you mean by performing? Did you play in a band that did cover tunes? Always wanted to do that, but I can't play any instruments. RockBand is all I have in terms of a "dream".

I have been categorizing and transferring music to MP3 for years now and have 300GB at the moment. I have a bunch of MP3's that a friend of mine actually took from vinyl and transferred. I have very few Downloaded MP3's as I dont trust the download sites to be virus free.

| I'm not trying to brag but, I have two 5150 peavey amps hooked up to my pa in my basement right know. I can hit around 20 to 30 very easy. But my favorite combo is my 60 watt Crate blue voodoo amp with my American strat, also running it through my crybaby wah and ibanez tube screamer petals. I luv my blues, but I can shred when I get some good bottom end and a drummer. | |

| I luv my peavey's. I think the new ones is the 6505. They're suppose to be badass! But I'm saving for an orange amp right know. As far as guitars, I've got only 4 flat tops, Taylor, alvarez, epiphone, and a old Martin. As for electric, I have the stable of all you need, Gibson Les Paul, fender strat, Paul Reed Smith custom 22, and a s series ibanez. | |

DK What do you mean by performing? Did you play in a band that did cover tunes? Always wanted to do that, but I can't play any instruments. RockBand is all I have in terms of a "dream". Exactly that. Since the age of 19 I have played in countless bands. Covering everything from Journey, Poison, Ratt, Glen Hughes, Ozzy, Sabbath, Tyketto, Mr. Big, Motley, Skid Row, Deep Purple, Lynchmob.... the list goes on and on Always been an avid singer since a very early age and have sung lead vocals in every band I have been in. About 6 years ago I fronted a Van Halen tribute band covering both the Damond Dave and Hagar era's. (Thank the heavens we didn't touch on the Gary Cherone album. Less said about that album the better). We recorded a demo and played gigs around the West Midlands area in the U.K. We had an amazing gig which culminated in every demo being sold, along with people asking for the band to sign it Quite surreal really. From the buzz we were generating at the time, the demo got played on a local radio station which was damn strange.. hearing yourself on the radio.. We even got a mentioned the Van Halen Encyclopedia. What was really strange was that the band was formed by two brothers, one playing drums with the other playing guitar. The crowd went wild watching the guitarist using a drill on Poundcake. Ahh the good times Sadly it all ended in tears, non receipt of money from paid gigs was the last straw for me, and I left the band absolutely gutted. I had poured my heart and soul into "5150" and no band since has ever matched up to the feeling I got when performing with those guys. (The band finished around 3 months after I had left) That said though, I still look back on it all and remember what made us so special at the time. The initial challenges when I joined the band (Just over 4 weeks to learn 45 VH songs LOL) just made the whole experience a lot more sweeter. Once I finally get myself sorted and manage to get out of the house (it's been a while) I plan on getting hooked up with a new band. Like I said this music brings back a lot of good memories for me. | I'm assure you'll understand this DK. Music and playing guitars is like theropy for me. If I had a bad week at work, I'll just call a couple of buddies, along with some Jim, Jack, and Johhny, and jam. I forget all about anything that might happened that week. Of course, by the time we finish off a couple of fifth's of whiskey, I think I've become Jimi Hendrix. Ahh, the sweet smell of tubes burning and the sounds of strings humming.

| Therapy indeed, when i had a stroke that left me in a wheelchair music was the one constant left for me.Only last night i went to see pennywise, what a great night,it makes me forget all about being in a chair just rocking out.As for guitars i alo have a couple of gibson ,a les paul & an explorer,i also have a couple of fender telecasters,My main passion guitar wise is80's metal guitars,i just love trawling pawn shops looking for old 80's ibanez jackson&kramer guitars. My two main 80's finds have been an 82 ibanez rg 570,quite sort after now and perhaps my best find a 1980 kramer barretta, nothing says hair & spandex like this candy pink axe, sadly even the spandex wont stretch enough thes days &ant the hair is somewhat diminished lol. | |
